It's not unusual for spammers to use an email address that belongs to someone else as the From: address when sending spam.
If you received a spam From: a contact that's a sign that maybe their account was compromised, or maybe that a contact you share has an address book that was compromised.
You can check and find out if it came from your contacts account by looking at the full email headers.
