PLEASE HELP! outgoing server error

I set my incoming and outgoing mail servers to 127.0.0.1, but when I ran the acct settings test, the incoming server test is listed has "completed" and the outgoing shows a msg that says, "Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. yadda, yadda, yadda..." What do I do?

It sounds like you are trying to configure YPOPS on your computer?

Have you tried following the instructions in the following guide?

yes. it worked like a charm for the incoming server and all of my emails immediately started filling my inbox. (although, I can't use SSL on either the incoming or outgoing server settings. when i do, the test for both the incoming and outgoing servers fail.) but as of yet, i haven't figured out a way to get my outgoing server settings right.

Have you tried using your ISP's smtp server?
