Default How to troubleshoot Yahoo Mail accounts with connection problems and browser timeouts

Hello,

Every now and then Yahoo Mail members report problems with their accounts loading to a blank page, redirecting to a blank page, or getting web browser timeouts. There are several troubleshooting steps that you can take to resolve this problem. Some solutions are based on fixing a problem reaching or logging into mail.yahoo.com, while others are aimed at fixing a spyware or virus problem on your local computer and are unrelated to the service upgrades. Please try all of the steps below, in order, until one of them works for you. As time passes the usefulness of the steps below will change. When one of the solutions below fixes a problem for you please reply and let us know which step helped you so we can keep the most helpful troubleshooting steps at the top of the list. If you want to skip these steps consider upgrading your account to Yahoo Mail Plus. Thank you.
  1. Login at https://login.yahoo.com/
  2. Try the international login page at Yahoo! Everything & World
  3. Try to login from another computer
  1. Force a page refresh. While holding down the control key on your keyboard hit the F5 key.
  2. Upgrade to the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox from Yahoo.
  3. Upgrade your Adobe Flash player.
  4. Update the remaining software on your computer with FileHippo.
  5. Clear your web browser cache.
  6. Make sure cookies are enabled and clear your cookies.
  7. Internet Explorer Users: Restore the default web browser security levels.
  8. If you are using the new Yahoo mail switch to Yahoo Classic or Yahoo Beta
  9. If you use Internet Explorer try using Mozilla Firefox instead: Download and install the latest Firefox
  10. Check your Anti-Virus software and make sure it is up to date. If you do not have an anti-virus program I recommend installing Avast personal edition.
  11. Update and run your anti-spyware programs such as Spybot S&D and Malwarebytes.
  12. Do you have the current versions of your security and firewall software installed such as Norton Antivirus or McAfee Antivirus Plus?
  13. Instead of using your ISP's DNS servers use the OpenDNS servers.
  14. Sometimes Yahoo is the problem, try waiting an hour and try to login again by going to mail.yahoo.com.
  15. You probably tried already, but if not, try rebooting your computer.
  16. Live support for your account can be purchased by upgrading to Yahoo Mail Plus.

If you are having a different Yahoo Mail problem that is not fixed with the steps above please create a new thread in our Yahoo Mail Support Forum.
