Is Scryptmail now a paid service ?

i dont login very often to my free scryptmail account but today i noticed a message saying service has changed etc and that $2 charge was beginning in may 2017 ..its now November and my account still works so whats going on ? was decision to charge changed and we can stay free ?

scryptmail should buy bitcoins to make profits to run site not charge us
