Is Comcast Down?

I'm hearing reports, mostly west coast, that there is an internet outage affecting Comcast and some other ISP's that probably have routing connections with Comcast.

Here is a trace route that started within Time Warner trying to reach peer1.net via Comcast.

The issue today August 12 2014 started clearing up a short while ago.

Internet based reports are still elevated but coming down:

I live in Chico CA and Comcast is working fine here.
