Did your
SpamFighter stop working after upgrading your Thunderbird mail program?
While viewing the SpamFighter one can see that this is a common problem.
First, to help prevent this problem in the future:
- Turn of automatic updates for Thunderbird
- Confirm there is a working update to SpamFighter before upgrading Thunderbird
You can try to run the "Repair" feature within SpamFighter, but this does not always fix the problem.
Please make sure to backup your Thunderbird mail folders before trying a downgrade in the next step. It's possible that downgrading could cause even more problems for your email.
If repairing SpamFighter does not work, try downgrading your Thunderbird to a previous version. To get an old version of Thunderbird go to
this link and select the previous working version of Thunderbird. As of this post Thunderbird 15 is a safe choice. After clicking the link for Thunderbird 15 you'll need to click the green button that says "download this version". After downgrading reinstall the latest version of SpamFighter.
