hotmail pop and smtp servers

Dear Reader,

In outlook Express 6 after setting up POP3 account following message appears when trying to send e-mail via outgoing server (SMTP)

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Please notice that incoming POP3 server
functions perfectly alright

Here is the setup guide for pop3 access to Hotmail :

Who is your ISP at home? It's possible that they are blocking outbound port 25.

Instead of using the Hotmail smtp server try using your ISP's smtp server for outgoing email.

Does that fix this problem?
