I don't like to say too much in an email. I try to remember "Don't put in an email what you don't want to see in the newspaper" when writing my email. I also don't like it when people send an email with too many words to get across a simple point or concept.

Also, email that you send can be forwarded to others.

Don't assume it will only ever be read by the intended recipient.

These are separate to me. I always thought of it as "don't put in an email what you wouldn't want taped to your parents front door" but it's the same idea. I agree with trying to stick to the point and not trying not to use too many words. I don't consider that too much of a problem though unless the excessive wordings make it hard to read and understand the email.
