Do filters in gmail have an order to them?

I try to keep filters to as few as possible by combining as many as possible into one. For instance my newsletter filter looks like this: If from matches (Editor@windowssecrets.com OR leghealthnews@supporthosestore.com OR Digg@e.digg.com OR noreply@gdgtmailer.com OR hri-ruminations@topfive.com OR noreply@aldi.us OR hri-top5@topfive.com OR *@shoemoney.com OR health@realage-mail.com OR Butcherboys55@yahoo.com OR seobook@gmail.com OR updates@lateralaction.com OR promo@e.newegg.com OR civis@arstechnica.com OR design@sitepoint.com OR service@youtube.com OR @versiontracker.online.com OR greenguide@thegreenguide.nationalgeographic.com OR mailings@mail.thesmokinggun.com OR @emailnewsletters.aetv.com OR ngs@newsletters.nationalgeographic.com OR shoemoneynl@shoemoney.com OR daily@urbandictionary.com OR tribune@sitepoint.com OR morgan@overheardinnewyork.com) Click to expand... Then skip inbox and label newsletters. I handle all private messages from vBulletin boards as: If subject matches "New Private Message at" then star it and never send to spam. You just have to be a little creative when setting up your filters to get everything humming along.
