Microsoft Outlook 2007: How to automatically mark messages as read

    1. Open up Outlook 2007
    2. Click on Tools and select Options
    3. Click on Other
    4. Click on the "Reading Pane" button
    5. Select "Mark messages as read when viewed in the Reading Pane"
