Lightbulb How to read your email on vacation with Gmail!

Many people check their email with Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, etc but when they go on vacation they cannot get new mail because it's tied to their home computer. This tutorial aims to fix that.

Here's a little feature that's not immediately apparent when you first use Gmail. If you're going on vacation, register for a Gmail account and add your regular home email accounts as POP accounts, see: Gmail: Using Gmail For All Your Email for a step by step. Now when you're on the road you can read all your regular email accounts through Gmail and even send mail from your home accounts.

When you get back home, you want all that email in your regular mail client right? Simply enable POP access for all mail in Gmail. Set up Gmail in your mail client and download all the mail.

This will enable you stay connected with your ISP or business email while your away from home. As always if you have any questions just ask.

-Dan
