Made a mistake using MDBVU32 deleting stuck outbox message, PLEASE HELP!

short answer: depends on how you store your email. If it is stored on the mail server, very easy fix: (in either ALWAYS make a copy of any local .pst prior to beginning ANY repair process) Sounds like you only borked your local cache: to rebuild simply delete the local account, close and...

    qmail-smtpd exiting after 1 second

ahh yes, the old softlimit problem ... I had required Popowich's expertise a few years ago with the same problem ... I seem to vaguely recall it was more of an issue on red hat derivatives for some reason or another.

How do I run qmail on port 587?

I did mine pretty much the same way, however the one thing that wasn't mentioned is you *should* go and add your new / second smtpd service into your qmailctl file so you can control it with the rest of the your QMail daemons.... I never really found this step mentioned anywhere online, but I...

    yahoo smtp

Re: smtp it used to be in the same spot as the virtual IPs in IIS ... even looks the same as the windows / tabs for the host OS's TCP/IP properties, but it was specific to IIS and not necessarily your NIC.

    yahoo smtp

Re: smtp If memory serves (and no I haven't done one of these setups in a couple of years myself): Yes, IIS always used to have its own DNS config ... it wasn't until either 5 or 6 (IIS6 = windows 2003) that it began using the host OS's TCP/IP config (in other words what you have setup on the...

    Identity Theft and Phishing Scams

no, I haven't but my wife *almost* was a couple of weeks ago. She had a suspicious email from one of our banks, and asked me to take a look. It was a typical password scam, but very well worded and they used a bank that we do have accounts at (Bank of America). I dug into the source of the...

cannot control cursor on yahoo email

first suggestion is to try a different browser. This will either confirm or deny your suspicion of whether or not IE8 is the issue. I personally prefer firefox, however I have heard good things about google's new chrome browser as well.

    Need opinions on email programs

what features are you happy with, which features are you unhappy with? The growing trend (at an alarming rate) is to use webmail instead of a POP client. Personally, I use Outlook 2003 or 07 on all of my windows machines. I used to use Evolution on my Linux machines, but lately I've been a...

gmail suddenly will not send attachments

after reviewing the case history, I think your next logical is to attempt removing (in its entirety) the Avira AV suite. Most AV softwares bascially work by setting up a proxy service on your computer. All traffic going in and out get "stopped" at this checkpoint and examined for virues...

    Trouble with yahoo email

I believe the first step is to rule out browser funniness... get yourself a copy of Firefox and try using that first. That will help us rule out if IE is the culprit or something else. Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client I've also been playing recently with Google's...
