I've been having trouble viewing some PDF attachments within Yahoo Mail. I did some searching on the web but haven't found any answers or solutions. I did a little research on my own and it seems I can view files that are PDF version 1.4 just fine, but PDF version 1.5 or greater display the message "We are having trouble previewing this file." and only gives me the option to download the file. This does not appear to be a browser issue as I see the identical behavior using Yahoo Mail on both Chrome and Firefox and when I forwarded the message to my Gmail account I was able to preview the PDF file just fine in the same browser using Gmail. Therefore this problem seems to be isolated to just the Yahoo Mail website.
