If you have missing or empty IMAP folders there are a few things to check.
First, check the IMAP subscriptions settings in your mail program.
If you used to have email in your inbox and folders, and suddenly it's gone, that's a sign that your account has been compromised and someone else with access to your account has deleted your email while trying to cover their tracks.
System Administrators - If your users can not see their IMAP folders check your IMAP server namespace configuration.
