If I restore the previous version of Windows on my computer what will happen to my personal folders?

They shouldn't be lost. Everything should be right where it was at least that's my understanding of how Windows downgrades work.

There should be a "windows.old" in C:\ maybe poke around in there? Do you remember a specific file name? Open an Explorer window and search for it that may lead you to the rest of your files.
