What happens if I let expire my Yahoo Plus subscription?

Hello; my first post here. I am considering to upgrade my free Yahoo mail to a Yahoo Plus mail account, but I am worried about what happens if, one day, I let my subscription expire, either accidentally or on purpose? Will it revert back to the free version, or will the account be shut down and all messages lost?

I could not find any info about that on their website, and I could not find a way to ask pre-purchase questions...

There is a free 14-days' trial period. Try it and I'm sure it comes with a proper support mechanism.

Yeah; I tried that in the meantime. However, the Yahoo Plus service seems to be restricted to the U.S. only. Since I am not in the U.S., it does not let me subscribe, for free or for a fee. A VPN does not solve the problem, as the error message I get is something like "Your account was created in another country". I'll give it a miss; it may be a dying service.
