What are the problems with forcing https only access to a webmail service?

Hello,

Can anyone think of any problems that would be created by forcing https access on a webmail service?

Would some mobile devices then have a problem connecting to a service that previously defaulted to http?

Any other concerns?

BTW, this question is specific to the Horde / IMP webmail framework.

iPhones don't seem to have a problem with http vs. https access to imp webmail.

I was just able to successfully login from my windows mobile 6.1 device and view my email on your horde/imp implementation via HTTPS. had no issues, however I will continue to use the POP3 client on my phone instead .
