Unable to delete emails on Windows Live Mail

New Email
For the past several weeks, I have been unable to delete any emails on Windows Live Mail. Each time I delete an email, it shows up again a few seconds later. When my computer is checking for new messages, I get the following error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Aol account. Header download for the 'Deleted Items' folder did not complete. Could not select 'Deleted Items' on the IMAP server. Try updating the folder list and then try again.
Server Response: SELECT failed
Server: 'imap.aol.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCCD2
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 143
Secure(SSL): No

I do not know what is meant by "try updating the folder list".

I still have not been able to resolve this problem. I went to WindowsLiveHelp.com and got the following response:

There are two possible reason for the error message that you are getting:

1. Incorrect POP settings (usually the SSL option for SMTP) – Please check with provider if it is required or not.
2. Firewall blocking ports (usually port 25) – Please check your firewall settings

Also, if you are using Windows Live Mail, please reconfigure your account:

Thanks,

This is almost Greek to me. Can someone tell me in layperson's language what this means, and what I am supposed to do?
