time stamp authentication

New Email
Hi guys,

I'm in a minor battle with a online company that I purchased something from and wanted you guys' advice. I had sent them an e-mail that they claim that they never received it despite it obviously being sent and in my sent email box in my hotmail account. The time stamp is the issue- they said that there would be no way to authenticate it if I forwarded it to them since the time stamp would be easy to change that way. Any way of proving it to them that I sent the e-mail at that time?

Thanks so much!

Hello,

It's tough since you are using a free mail service and don't have access to the outgoing mail logs, so the best thing you can do is take a screen shot of your sent mail folder showing the date in the right column when you sent the email. It does not prove delivery to the recipient, but it does show that you did in fact attempt to send an email.
