Strange SMTP problem

New Email
Working with 3 offices in 3 locations - all belong to algvip.com - domain hosted by GoDaddy - using Outlook 2003 for email client. POP3 and SMTP server settings are both: algvip.com

Local ISP is Eastlink and their SMTP server is: smtp.eastlink.ca (IP - 24.222.0.20). This is only used to send scanned docs via email from a Xerox workcenter - this stopped working same time as problem below.

Replaced wired router (Linksys BEFS81) in Office 1 with new one - transferred all settings from old router to new - Internet works ok, Network access is fine on server and PC's, email works ok with one exception.

Office 1 staff cannot email to themselves nor to each other - can email (send & receive) ok but slowwwwwwlyyyy to other staff at other offices in same domain with same "algvip.com" email server settings - can send & receive email from Internet webmail (Yahoo or Hotmail) to and from Outlook.

Have sent email to my personal email address from Office 1 and it takes hours to receive on my end but they receive mine ok.

Anyone have some idea on how I can trouble shoot this annoying glitch.? GoDaddy says everything is fine on their end but to my mind, their SMTP server is not handing off the "internal emails" from staff in Office 1 to their POP3 server for this one office for some reason..?

Thanx muchly for any advice or pointers...

Hi Steve,

I think the best place to start is with you posting the full email headers from some sample working and slow emails.

Also, admittedly a wild shot in the dark, do all three offices and equipment use the same DNS Resolvers?

Hey Ray..

Thanx for quick reply - here are headers from 2 emails - the 1st. example was a reply sent approx. 09:15am but not received at my end until 20:03pm that nite.

The 2nd. example was sent approx. 11:00am and received at my end within a few minutes at 11:07am

I can forward the headers from their "sent" emails to each other in the office that go to limbo on Monday, but since they never get received I can't give you any details on the reply routing.

And yes, they all use the same equipment & DNS resolvers to my knowledge but I would have to visit the other sites to double check.
