Rediffmail, based in India - yay or nay?

I saw this mail provider, while reading an article.
The location is fantastic, but is the service too?

Couldn't find any reviews what so ever, so therefor i'm asking for people, who has used the service.

When I first signed up for redif,they didn't require a phone number. Then a few years later, it asked me to verify my phone number, or it wouldn't allow me to login, so I stopped using them.
