I have Postfix configured to require user to first login before they can send an email. However, now have a NAS which needs to send notifications. Sadly it does not have the capability to login to the mail server. How can I make an exception it send email without logging into the mail server...

Which ports are you using on the mail server?

Is it possible for you to do IP based relay on port 25 and smtp authentication on port 587?

I didn't test it yet, but you might be able to override the smtp auth by adding the IP of the storage to the "mynetworks" setting in your /etc/postfix/main.cf

It's a personal preference of mine to keep IP based relay and smtp-auth on separate ports.

kindly see below "mynetworks setting, note that NAS uses IP 10.19.0.16

mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 [::ffff:127.0.0.0]/104 [::1]/128 10.19.0.0/16
