Outlook IMAP failed to update headers

Hello,

Are you getting the error "Failed to update headers" from your Microsoft Outlook?

Please follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Increase your mail server timeouts
  • Temporarily disable virus scanning to determine if it's interfering
  • Also virus scanning related, make sure you scan Outlook files not the actual IMAP traffic
  • Verify that you have the latest service pack installed
  • Login as an admin and run SCANPST.EXE (located in $USERNAME/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook/)
  • Check your Accepted Domain configuration (MORE INFO)
