Mysterious Auto Reply

I had a Yahoo email account which I did not use so I set up an auto reply on it which tells people to use my new Ymail email address. The Yahoo account has now been closed by Yahoo. I also have another email address which I use to help organise a golfing society. Its a webmail live.mail account.
Now the problem is simple….when a golfer sends an email to my live.mail account they receive the auto reply from the closed Yahoo account. It feels like all the email accounts have gotten tangled up.

How can that be and what needs to be changed to stop it happening?

Do you know for sure that the golfer is sending to your live mail address? Maybe the old e-mail address is still in the address book or reply field.
