A few years ago support stopped for the PINE email problem.
There is now an update version of PINE called Alpine.
Alpine development appears to have picked up where PINE left off.
It essentially is the same email program.
The install is a simple ./configure; make; and then copy alpine to where you want it on your system.
The only difference I noticed after upgrading is the way received dates are displayed in the inbox.
