lost autocomplete ability

Some how when I am trying to select names to send email to, I have lost the ability to start typing in a name" and have a response of names exact or close to the one I am typing in so I can merely click on the address or group of addresses and have them entered. I have a list I call the "Weather Report" which has 160 plus contacts. Normally, I would just start typing in Weather on the BCC line and then click on Weather Report when it pops up, but now I get nothing.
I may have inadvertently gotten rid of the cookie that makes this work. Any ideas how I can get this feature back?
