I cannot send emails

Carrie Walsh

New Email
On Mar 20, I transferred from Rogers account to yahoo account as I no longer had service with them.
Since then I have been unable to send any emails. Several hours later I get failure notices that state
"after multiple tries, giving up". There is no error code, no sign as to what is wrong.
There are no notices re: spam. I used the quick fix tool and it did not detect any errors.
Last time I sent an email, the failure notice came back "internal error: server error" so now I'm not sure if the first issue is fixed and this is another problem or if there a 2 problems.

Hi Carrie,

What are you using for your new smtp outgoing mail server setting in your email program?

Your old ISP settings should stop working after the service is cancelled. Who is your new ISP?

If you're using a Yahoo account, it would be best to send using Yahoo's mail servers. This is because many email services won't accept your Yahoo email unless you send through Yahoo.
  • Server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
  • Port - 465 or 587.
  • Requires SSL - Yes.
  • Requires TLS - Yes (if available)
  • Requires authentication - Yes.
