How to manage Gmail filters

To manage your Gmail filters, first click the Gear and select Settings:

Then in the navigation bar click Filters:

To add on the this you can use parenthesis and the OR operator to combine multiple filters into one. This was more useful before the automatic filtering became default. I used to have a huge filter with 30 or so from addresses that automatically archived and labeled newsletters. They never clogged up my inbox - when I had spare time I would read through them.

Here's an example:

This filter is for a couple of email addresses I was using for a short time. Anything sent to these addresses automatically gets starred (put front and center) and labels it to tell me to change the address.
