The following steps will create a generic printer in Windows XP that can be used to print to a file.
The following steps will create a generic printer in Windows XP that can be used to print to a file.
- Click the Start button, go to Settings, and then select Printers and Faxes
- Click Add Printer, Next, and then Local Printer, and Next
- Select create new port, local port, and then click next
- Use the following port: FILE: (Print to File)
- Click OK
- The printer manufacturer is: Generic
- The printer is: Generic / Text Only
- Select No for default printer
- Do not share the printer
- Select Yes to print a test page
- Click Finish
