how to choose colors of website?

Hi,

I have been researched lots of websites and some of them have great look & design but their niche are totally different than me.How should the design especially color combination of website?

I am not capable to take decision where to start.How do you choose these things done correctly?

It's a matter of preference or sometimes people try to match the colors in the company logo.
