How do I know if an email is really from Yahoo?

I got a suspicious email that says it's from Yahoo but how do I know if it really is from Yahoo?

All official email communications from Yahoo have the purple Yahoo icon next to their name:



If you received a suspicious email without the login asking you to verify your account, update your password, click a link etc it's a trick trying to hack your account and you should delete the email.
