how do I change the time stamps on emails to show the correct time?

Try double clicking on the clock in the bottom right of your desktop, then click into the time settings. Is your time zone set correctly?

If that doesn't fix the problem, please paste the full headers from an email into a reply to help us tack down the source of the problem.

For example, an issue on your computer/device vs. something wrong with a mail server you are sending through.
