Hotmail on mobile phone

I have an Orange pay as you go phone. Up to two months ago, I could access my email on the phone, without ever having to use a password or user name. About three weeks ago I tried checking my emails in France only to find I could not and since then whenever I try it in this country it tells me the user name or password is incorrect. I have contacted Orange who tell me it is a hotmal problem. Help!

I don't know what your home country is, but if it isn't France then I think your phone is roaming. You are connecting via another provider (in France) and they might block access to the internet.

Thank you bburg, this reply makes a lot of sense. I shall now contact Orange again in order to sort this out. My home country is UK but whenever I go to France, which is every few months, the phone switches to Bougytel. If I get it sorted I shall let you know so other members of this forum can profit from this knowledge as well.
