hotmail account signing in

Hi guys,

I have received an email from Microsoft saying that they had received several attempts to get a new password by myself I must add so I can get into my account.
They have said that it would be easier now for me to setup a new account.
Why can't they just try and help me get into my account.
If I setup a new account I then can't get important emails from the one in trying to get into.
If I can't get into my account I won't be setting up another one with Microsoft.
Also why is there's not an email to get hold of someone to talk to about this.
