forwarding e-mails

How do I delete unwanted words or where the e-mail came from before forwarding the e-mail. I use to be able to highlight and hit delete, or place cursor and use backspace. Doesn't work since last update. Please help.

Most email programs and webmails will let you edit an email after you you hit forward but before you hit the send button.

Sometimes there is a mechanism such as a triple dot "..." or "show more" that needs to be clicked to expand the past emails and make them viewable / editable.
