Finding search function poor with Yahoo! 7 mail

I am constantly using the search box to trace my communications with a person or company.
1. I am losing confidence in the search to include all the correspondence.
2. Often, I cannot select more than one message at a time to delete.
3. It is erratic and not reliable.
Am I the only person experiencing this?

Hi Michelle,

Have you tried creating a message filter so all new email from the contact gets delivered to a folder?

Then you could search and scroll through the email in the folder instead of needing to search your inbox and hoping that it returns the correct list of emails.

Firstly, thank you so much for your response. V much appreciated.
I have so many contacts in my industry that this wouldn't be viable. I receive all emails to my inbox and file into folders as required - but sometimes I forget to file them
How can a search of my inbox not be reliable????
My son keeps telling me to switch to Gmail every time I complain about Yahoo.

I did some test searches in my Yahoo and it seems to be OK.

As your son said, if there is nothing preventing you from starting a new email address and forwarding new mail sent to the old Yahoo address to the new account, picking a service that works better for you in an option.

Another option is to try some email programs such as Mozilla Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail, configure them with the IMAP settings for Yahoo, and see if you happen to like any of those email clients better than Yahoo's webmail.
