extraneous pop-up

This just started today. Every time I try to enter text into the body of an email, a pop-up with contacts interrupts the typing. So, it'll take the first couple of letters, then after the pop-up, that window gets filled in. in the attachment, I am trying to type, "test." It starts accepting the "te", but opens the window and the "s" goes into this pop-up. I can close it and when I resume typing in the body, it pops up again. What is this and how do I turn it off?
