desktop backgrounds

my friend has a neat picture for her desktop background. I want it for my desktop background. Is there a way for her to email the picture to me and for me to make it my background?
I am new at computers and don't know much.

She would have to find the image on her Hard drive in order for her to email it to you. Different programs store backgrounds in different places. For instance Internet Explorer saves background images here: C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

If she found it online chances are she can send you a link to the page. Then right click on the image and select Use as Desktop Background.
