CONFUSION WITH TWO COMPUTERS

I live in England and visit family in the states twice a year for two months. When there, I use my mother's computer. Before leaving, I logged out and assumed she could easily access her email. She called me recently and said that when she had gone into her email, it was a complete blank.

I then tried her email from here, and since my email address is in her recovery mail, I had to get a verification code from MINE to access it. How can she get her email working again? I CAN do it but she can't/
