blocked by spam blocker when sending email to one recipient

Everytime that I try to send an email, I get to a window that forces me to type in the letters that I see into a text box. I do this and then receive a message regarding spam and my email never gets sent. I'm only sending an email to 1 person. I don't understand why this is happening. I am using IE 9, my OS is Windows 7. I tried to send email yesterday and again today with the same results.
