Backing up Windows Mail email

New Email
Hi

First post!

Soon I will be replacing my hard drive so Ive backed up docs and music etc to thumb drives. I then attempted to back up my email (Windows Mail, Vista).

I used file-export-messages and all seemed ok; I backed-up/copied them to a folder on the desktop. Then I copied that folder to the thumb drive; it took about 10 mins but during it I got this message:

Do you wish to copy ....(email reference number finishing in 000000000) without its properties?

I had to select yes, and do the same for all other instances (as it appeared to be over 1000, ie the email messages)

It then continued and completed the task but Im worried when I go to import on the new hard drive that I will have lost my emails....hopefully not.

Any suggestions?

:thanks:
