Did you get the following smtp error message when sending an email?
#5.3.4 SMTP 552 Message size exceeds maximum permitted
In plain english it means that one of the mail servers that is either trying to relay or accept & deliver your email says that your email was too big.
If you are sending a file or picture you can try to make the file smaller and then resend the email :

Using FTP, IM, or a file sharing service such as YouSendIt could also be a reasonable alternative to sending a big email.
