Move Emails En Masse

I set up a 2016 folder to contain my Inbox of Emails from last year. When I click the box next to INBOX (above the messages) then click Select Everything in the Inbox, all emails become checked. However, the ribbon containing the Move button goes away so I cannot move the contents en masse. I can still move a few emails at a time but not all. (Using Hotmail and W10).

In my Hotmail inbox I need to click the checkbox twice to get it to activate. The move button doesn't reappear until the second click that causes the messages to actually be selected.

Darn - if I click the box to the left of Inbox a second time, it clears all the checkmarks.

Are you able to manually select 2 emails, and then use the "select everything" link at the bottom of the reading pane?

No. Not there. The "Select everything" option comes up to the right of the word Inbox if I click the box to left of the word Inbox. If I click there, it selects all emails but the Move button goes away. And, I can't drag and drop the contents.

I also tried the routine of clicking the first email, then going to the last email and, with the Shift key held down, clicking the last email. I read somewhere that this selects all emails in between, but it didn't work for me.

POP, I said in the beginning that I was using Hotmail, but I guess it's now called Outlook.
