Hi @saraf

I don't think it will be possible for us to offer public beta testing for this interface since accounts will need to go through an internal migration process to move from the old to new SCRYPTmail.

I posted a blog update this morning that highlights some of the new features - Preview of the new SCRYPTmail

I like the old theme a lot more. First it has the nice dark border, and gives a nice contrast. I hate the all white/blinding white of the new gui. I hope you'll somehow have a 'legacy' theme, or some darker theme options other than just 99% white.

Yeah, I was reading few other topics, where people like darker themes. And there was "bingo" - that it's my service and nothing really stopping me to accepts custom themes, if someone want to make it. It wont be any on the beginning, taking into consideration my limited ability, but hopefully we can come up with some options pretty quick.

I'm somewhere in the middle myself. Not too light; not too dark. (Maybe that's why I'm "foggy." ;))

Specifically, I can't read light-on-dark text easily, so I prefer dark-on-light. But I agree with z01 that too much white space (in a dark-on-light theme) is somewhat blinding -- like trying to read the print on a fluorescent light bulb when it's on. So, some design that would "tone down" the white space would work for me. :)

And in general, I think custom themes would be great, whether they're offered in the Scryptmail settings themselves or by way of something like Userstyles.org (for use with the Stylish add-on).

Options are nice,i have trouble with Tutanota.I compare it to a black & white tv to a colored tv.

About the topic of contrast. I have added some screenshots of various guis with some really nice layout/contrast. These are just my opinion of course, but for me, there is some really nice contrast, and 'easy readability' in all the components. Currently my top favorites. Maybe if there is such a strong desire to completely change the way scryptmail looks, a couple design ideas can be taken from them.

and the new zoho layout http://i.imgur.com/14gnCZu.jpg

the use or colors, the use of bold fonts, very strong presentation. very clean, very crisp. easy to differentiate between the various information, none of it just blurs all together, a lot of very simple, yet smart ways to define/separate various texts. I just find these 2 layouts very 'readable' with their smart use of contrast elements. I'm also very partial to words representing actions, like 'reply' 'forward' 'delete' etc, instead of having some generic icons representing actions, for me that adds even more contrast and I'm able to quickly read/react and selection whatever function I want to perform (isntead of trying to remember what each generic icon represented). I know that is the prevailing trend is minimalism though :)
