How long does Hotmail store emails for?

I've looked everywhere and I can't find the answer (without paying for some expertadvice.com or some other rubbish) Put simply, how long does Hotmail store emails for before they are deleted. I am looking for emails from the period between 2004 and 2006. Much appreciate any advice on this.
