transferring windows live mail folders to gmail

I have folders in WindowsLiveMail from my gmail account. I would like to transfer some of the folders back into gmail. Can that be done?

Are you using IMAP? If you configure Gmail with IMAP this should be an easy task, or might already be the way you want it.

I am using POP3. I must say that I much prefer using WLM rather than the gmail server, but if the computer is hijacked, the gmail server can possibly be locked in time while the WLM will sit exposed. This is rather frustrating.
Right now I am just grouping the emails from the large folders and forwarding them to our account. I then add a label.
