Hi. I am an animal health advisor and I need to email my clients with test results etc. Some of my clients have hotmail.co.uk and hotmail.com addresses. They simply do not receive my emails when all other addresses have no problem. I use Outlook to send my emails and my web address is my Home Page. I have been in operation for 2 years. Please can you help me to sort this out for my customers? Thank you

Have you tried emailing from a different email provider to see if the problem is on your end or a hotmail problem? That would be my first suggestion.

Hi Theresa. Thank you for the quick reply. I have tried sending from gmail with nor trouble at all. We have an email address from our website and hotmail simply refuses to accept emails. I can reply to emails from hotmail accounts but not initiate them. Really frustrating as my customers think i am ignoring them!!!

I am just being curious here, why not just use gmail? Hotmail has a history (if you go back and read posts from members here on our site) of complaints. I am going to ask Popowich to look at this to see if he has any ideas. It sounds strange to me and I'm not really sure what the answer is.

Hi wormcounter,

Are the emails sent by your outlook, your web site, or both?

Do you have your own mail server or are you using your ISP's outgoing smtp server?

Check the log files on the outgoing mail server.

If it's a shared relay it could be a problem with another user that is spamming which would cause Hotmail to block all email from that smtp relay

:welcome: to Email Questions!

Thank you Theresa. I am a complete Nubee on here so am really greatful for any help. My website is powered by wordpress which uses outlook to send emails with an @wormcount suffix. I may have to resort to using gmail to send results but it doesn't really look as professional I don't think - but then what do I know!! Thank you anyway and I look forward to hearing what Popowich says!

You can configure additional From: email addresses in your Gmail account.

Once that is done you can send From: your business email address with Gmail.
