Hello,

To put a shortcut for Yahoo Mail on your desktop please follow these steps:
  • Go to https://login.yahoo.com
  • Bookmark the page in your web browser
  • Edit the bookmark properties and change the link to http://mail.yahoo.com
  • Click on your bookmarks and then right click copy the new Yahoo bookmark
  • Go you your desktop and right click paste as shortcut to create the Yahoo desktop icon
You can also make Yahoo the default mail program by installing the Yahoo Toolbar.

drag from favicon location in firefox location bar to desktop

modify properties of shortcut to http://mail.yahoo.com
