The troubles are being experienced by both users of Yahoo Classic and the new Yahoo Mail.
There are many troubleshooting steps that you can try including those found in our Yahoo Mail Help troubleshooting guides:

http://www.emailquestions.com/e-mail...-problems.html
Some additional problem descriptions include:
- The mail page comes up blank
- Emails will not open
- The inbox will not open
- The reply button does not work
- There is no access to the contacts tab
Some additional troubleshooting information and steps include:
- The current problem is with Yahoo. Do not reinstall software on your computer
- Sign out of Yahoo. Clear your cookies. Sign back into Yahoo.
- Try logging in from Y! Login
- Try logging in from Yahoo! Answers - Home
- Force a browser refresh on the Yahoo mail page. While holding down the control key hit F5.
- If you can not reply, try starting a new email to your contact.
- Refresh the Yahoo Mail page before you try to compose a new email.
- If you use Yahoo or another Yahoo compatible IM messenger, use the check mail link from that software to login to your email.
The above suggestions may help but are not guaranteed to work for all Yahoo members.

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
My link to yahoo mail has not worked in ages. I get the icon at the bottom right of my screen telling me I have new mail but it will not open a window for it if I click on it. It used to work a really long time ago. I mostly use Firefox but I do have internet explorer installed also and use that rarely.

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
I have had the previously operating "Attach Files" feature on my Yahoo Classic email quit working (Windows XP sp2, Firefox 2.0.0.11). When I activate the primary "Attach Files" button on the message that I am trying to send I get transferred to a blank page (no browser) with another "Attach Files" button at the top of the page and that page never quits loading ("Transferring data from us.bc.yahoo.com . ."). Activating that second "Attach Files" button on the new page sends me into an endless loop of "Attaching Files" > "Attach Files" > etc.
When Internet Explorer (IE 6.0) is used instead of Firefox the "Attach Files" feature from the primary email window properly brings up a browser window and works OK.

Are your Yahoo Messenger software and web browser tool bars up to date?
Is it possible that you blocked or denied updates and your software is too old to work now?

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
I thought it might be firefox that is the problem as I finally got it to work in Safari (I am on a mac) But when logging on a second time in safari, the application unexpectedly quit!!
I don't know how to report the problem to Yahoo.

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
For the Yahoo members having a problem with replies and forwarding emails here is a quick tip :
- Open the email you want to reply/forward
- Go to the Edit menu and click Select All
- Go to the Edit menu and click Copy
- Start a new email and type in the email address you want to send it to
- Click into the body of the message
- Go to the Edit menu and select Paste
- Continue to reply/forward as you normally would and then send.

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
I am unable to login to Yahoo Mail for over a week. Ever time I access the Yahoo webmail link, it repeatedly asks me to enter my password. The password does not get validated even after dozens of attempts, and occasionally I get an Error Code 14 or Error Code 1.
I have tried clearing the cache, clearing cookies, logging off my machine and trying again but nothing helps. I have used both Google Chrome version 3 and IE 8 but I am unable to open Yahoo Mail in either. I have filled in the form for customer service a few times, but if i got any response from them there is no way of checking.
I get some important service mails on this id and I must have it revived. Please help.

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
Are you able to login using the Yahoo Basic link: Y! Login
That link points to a stripped down version of Yahoo that sometimes works when an account is having problems.

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
You account should not be down with that error for a week.
Did you make any changes to your computer about a week ago?
Have you tried updating your adobe flash to the latest version?
Which virus program do you use? Does it have a webshield? Try turning it off for a couple minutes.
Try waiting several hours and trying again. Maybe you had several failed logins (you or someone else) and you need to wait out the lock delay for accounts that have had too many failed login attempts.

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
NO, I didn't make any major changes to my computer a week ago. Just regular Windows updates.
I use Avira Anti Virus. I will try to access my Yahoo mail again tomorrow from a different machine and see if the problem is resolved. Every time I try to submit a form regarding the error codes 14 or 1 that I get sometimes, I see a message stating that Yahoo Mail servers are being upgraded. Can that be a possible reason for me not being able to access my mail for the past few days?

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
I don't think I've seen an account unavailable more than 48hrs.
What happens if you uninstall your anti-virus and instead install Avast home edition?

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
I will try using Avast AV. Besides if this has something to do with my machine, shouldn't I also be able to access Yahoo mail from a different machine? I haven't tried that yet, but I will try to login from a friend's laptop tomorrow.
Thanks for all your help.

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
Yes, checking for a friends computer can help to rule out any software conflicts between Yahoo and your computer.

Re: Yahoo Mail Problems June 2009
Hi Raymond,
I tried to login to yahoo mail from a friend's machine, but again the same problem. I am repeatedly asked for my password, I am never able to proceed to my Inbox. What is going wrong here?
Thanks,
Shailendra
