When signing up for a new Yahoo Mail account you have the choice between three different domains for your new email address. You new Yahoo Mail address can be:

    • @yahoo.com
    • @ymail.com
    • @rocketmail.com

With Yahoo Mail being a very popular service this is useful; Your nickname under @yahoo.com may be taken but you can probably get it under one of the newer domains (rocketmail.com or ymail.com).

When using an @ymail.com or @rocketmail Yahoo ID to login be it on Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Messenger be sure to type in your full email address.

I don't know why they don't let you choose the domain when you want to make your free extra email address.

Ymail and Rocketmail have been discontinued for signing up.
